i see now why my first sentence, according to family lore, was "Massachusetts is a MESS!" even now i'm still oddly attracted to churned up, dirty snow. especially black snowballs.
16/365 - snowplow bench
snowplows. they're everywhere. roaring up behind you when you are walking the dog. scraping behind you in the parking lot. they fascinate me. mostly so i don't get run over. but really. they do. if i ever see one stationary for 2 seconds, i will ask if i can drive. they will probably tell me to get lost or get run over.

14/365 - icicle, icicle, where are you go-ing?
Super cool RL icicles, had to get a shot. not as much clarity as i'd hoped. the top reminded me of a carnival so i wanted to bring in a little bit of that element. instead of going french pastel, i went greenish blue. i dunno. i'm weird. what can i say. i was bored with the regular icicles. cool as they were. i'm sure the restaurant people were like uh, lady? what are we doing?

13/365 - reflections on looking {up}
i'll have to re-try this sometime when i can fiddle more with lighting. i wanted more clear emphasis on the orange and less dithering.
this is the underside of my overly full Brita water pitcher from a 70 degree angle; orange on counter behind it.

this is the chinese verb for change which, directly translated, means "deliver transformation".
i am changing. transforming. the path is littered with self-obstacles that i must learn to deal with and not simply step over for another day.
the shadows are symbolic of a Venn diagram, and the way in which change is composed of not just one step, but a series of steps.

11/365 - the castle stood deserted
its rulers, having abandoned the ramparts for warmer climes, often stared longingly at their lost playmate through the glass door. it almost seemed... as if the castle was staring back, dreaming of the days when they would once again wander the world of make-believe...
10/365 - snow dog
oops. yesterday was a blur, so i took one today. could not get her to stop moving so a bit of blur around the eyes as i didn't fiddle with my settings much before snapping this.

not an origami guru. (yet)
this. is not a paper crane. it's true you can see the {semblance} of a paper crane somewhere in there. this is my first attempt. i found another tutorial, this one a video that is working better for me so far ( as in i'm not going wait - what? mine doesn't look like that! ) so we will see how the next one comes out...

9/365 - vanishing jet
by the time i pulled over safely, this jet had gone behind the clouds. it was so awesome. it made my non-productive trip to "the madness" that is IKEA worth it. i was basically like i'm going to get something out of this trip! hopefully my night-shot kung-fu will level up the more i do this challenge...
