this exhibit was an great way to introduce CAM to kids. they got to watch their own little gyro tops be manufactured. i think this was my favorite exhibit in the whole place. i nearly died when the robot arm waved at us. it shows you the toy when it is done, and in the package. it was hysterical. especially since in the back of my mind i am always thinking oh sure you are waving now but one day you will want to rip out human guts... yes i've watched too many terminator series / movies...

was i @ the beach? no, i was not. yet here they were.
this guy had a pal who he was discussing something *very* important with while dive-bombing scraps in the parking lot.
then they both sat on two opposite light poles and continued the conversation. i had planned to get one of his friend and make a diptych but he would not sit still AND people were looking at me like i was totally nuts.

my kid and her friend got to this before i did. they were so excited to see what was in there. i was laughing hysterically because they were SO confused. an empty box? what is this madness?? then they were harassing me to get them one as well.

it was a gorgeous, pseudo-spring day. (by which i mean that it looked like spring but was still freezing-ish!) the park is something that has been absent from our lives all winter long. i was surprised my kids did not rocket-fly out of the car. everything seemed extra-gorgeous - maybe it was the blues peeking out from behind non-dreary fluffy white clouds.
i guess when all is said and done, the sky is always blue in the end.

Flashdrive Magazine

Carrie Clevenger, the ever-hard-at-work tamer of Crooked Fang, introduced me to Walter at Flashdrive.   I am excited to have a possible opportunity to contribute photos for his flash-fiction magazine!   I think it is right up my alley.

Crooked Fang has an album coming out around October.   It's going to be great.   If you will be in Austin in October, you should ask Carrie how you can get in to see the band play.   It's going to be amazing.
